what i think
I'VE BEEN ON ATLANTIC OCEAN!!!
it was a saturday weekend event for the bunch of us international students in Univ of Strathclyde.
i went there with Jenny, Mun n Hong. we r the only 4 from our pharmacy malaysian batch.
when the rest were busy eating up the books, we went to a the other side of glasgow-The isle's of Bute. It was only an hour train n an hour ferry there.
It was soo beautiful!! Nice weather nice scenery, nice greens and nice oceans..... so much diff than glasgow city which lack the natural beauty. but what i earned the most from the trip was, i get to mix around with the international students, it's amazing!!
I really am very envy n impressed by those who traveled all ALONE, leaving behind all the things back home, and start their new chapter of life, in a strange country, mixing around with new ppls. Isnt that a beautiful challenge? I wish i had the chance but, well, i know i have to satisfied with all i have got now, no doubt i m here with the whole airoplane of malaysian univmates, staying at the lil "malaysian village" i would call, but, at least i still got the chance to study abroad rite, compared to many ppl, i m considered the lucky ones already. so no grumble la.
Now that i m here in overseas, i understand one thing..i;m part of MALAYSIAN, what i do will reflect what ppl think of malaysia. I have to do my part.
In IMU for example, i dun even bother if i go to class late, but here, i do. The international students officers--Uncle Jim, who brought us to the island, jokingly introduced us to faiz, a Turkish, as maLAZYian. I know, that's what he thinks abt us malaysian, this was what reflected by our seniors who came here last last years n many years ago ever since IMU twinned with Strathclyde. well, i can admit that, us young malaysian's attitude is way too far from good manners. We r lazy and we are selfish too, we always think of our ownselves. Heard before anyone who went home to malaysia from UK with a new phone that was compensated from phone company for the so-called "lost" phone? Isnt it a bad attitued? Hmnn...Before i came here, i had this "fantastic" idea too.. i somemore have got the idea myself as to who i will want to give the "free" phone to but now, i've changed my mind. Can i say i m more matured? or can i say i love Malaysia? like, y it's so hard for us to apply debit card in UK nowadays when only a few years ago the policy had been so linient for the international students? That's because, there r many students, who abused the card. Anyway, i just dun wan to be part of the "smarties" n create inconvenience for the future travellers especially my juniors!
Junqi n Eileen will come over to visit Glasgow tmr ( Thurs ). Too bad fri i have got an exam to sit so I cant join their trip to Edinburg on fri. Since i came to glasgow from london, i hav been so busy with my course, we r doing the summer compact course. so that's y. So scotland to me, is still a strange place, everyday i see out from my window ( I m staying at 5th floor currenly) , i feel so blank. The edge of the view to me is like, so near yet so far...
BUT, this Sat, i've planned a half day trip for my guests of honours, we r going to the Great Cumbrae, it's a small island where u can just simply cycle around the island. It is in between glasgow city n Preswic Airport. It is only one hour FROM glasgow city and one hour TO the airport. The gals flight flying to london is 6pm. theoratically the time should be alright. Hopefully they r interested n we can make it! finger cross....
today, is not a bad summer day :)
