i never been so interested in history b4. I used to think, isnt it stupid? ok, u managed to track back events that happened several hundreds or thousands years ago. SOOO? what's the big deal? Why do u have to force the darling students to hafal them? Sejarah=Bidoh's Face=Bidoh's irritating lecture=Nightmare for me in my secondary years.
But certainly not this one. ...

It happened 400 and 1 years ago, that Guy Fawkes, an English soldier and member of a group of Roman Catholics who attempted to carry out the Gunpowder Plot to assassinate the Protestant King James I (James VI of Scotland) and the members of both houses of the Parliament of England, by blowing up Westminster Palace during the formal opening session of the 1605 Parliament, His activities were detected, however, before the plan's completion. Fawkes and his conspirators were executed for treason and attempted murder. Guy Fawkes' failure is remembered with Guy Fawkes Night (also known as Bonfire Night or Fireworks Night) on November 5.

So, there were fireworks all over UK this week. big big small small. To celebrate the failure that saves livessss. Even british colonies like Aus and Nz celebrated this day too. but dunno y Malaysia is not included la. GOOD! that means malaysian students like us need not to study extra chapter in the already so complicating-sejarah book.

That day itself, there were 45mins fireworks in a park in Glasgow. Ofcoz we went all the way to the crowd ( tho it was freezing cold ). There was even a fun fair in the park. The whole atmosphere was so happening. Not the busy and crazy dressing-uo-crowd like u imagined but u can feel that everyone is so extremely in the great mood!

I was truely inspired. Even so many years after, this thing is still alive, in the ppl's heart. I wonder, will this last forever? hmnnn...
